Smile! It's photo time :)

30th December, 2011 (11:09pm)

Hey Everyone!

Happy New Year's Eve Eve... if that's even a real celebration. Haha..
Anyways, I'm here in the living room using my dad's apple computer with my dog Sam sleeping next to me. I've gotten a lot of requests to upload photos onto my blog. So here they are :)

Obviously, I'm not going to upload every single photo I took... which was about 269 photos. Just a few ones.

The never ending escalator thingy in China
The plane I took (China Southern)
Namsung Tower Rooftop

Love messages written in blocks

Large christmas tree and presents

That's all for today. I've spent 25 minutes uploading pictures. Man, this computer's slow. I'll upload more later.

Good night.

Have a great New Year's Eve Eve

20th day in Korea

28th December, 2011 (12:41pm Korea time)

Today is my last day in Korea :(
We're already at the airport, passed annoying security. The lady who works here allowed our bags (50.5kg) for free. Yay! The plane to Guangzhou departures at 1:55. So we're just waiting here.

Haha, hey your souvenirs got stuck at security. But no worries they got through after a while.

Well I am going to read my book again since I didn't buy a new one :p

3:53pm Korea time

I'm on the plane. Just ate lunch a few minutes ago. I'm stuck at the back of the plane. Not the back but the back back seat infront of the toilet. Next to us is a man. Who has his shoes off. And it stinks.. And the grandpas infront of us are drinking beer. So it smells too. Then the seat across us are two baby boys. Man, they can cry. Well, wish me luck for the 4 hours on board.

Hi again!
No idea what time it is but we're on a plane to Sydney. We're stuck at the back of the plane again. In the middle!!!
Our luggage had this end that couldn't fit in the top cabinet thing so the lovely Russian family let us borrow their space. But the son keeps kicking the seat. And the two guys sat next to me. I don't know. They look Brazilian/Spanish. I think they're gay. Dunno. And they were on a holiday to Sydney. When we arrived they were like Ohhhh... And pointing. No idea they were speaking another language the whole time.

I'm in Sydney!!
Man, it's hot :(
I want to go back to korea again.

I'm at my mums friends house. My parents and my mums friends family went to the blue mountains. I just watched xmen first class on her friends laptop and how to train a dragon. It was really good :) I feel so sorry for Charles though.

We then went to Bondi junction to Kellys and ate ribs... Hmm yummy :)

It is currently 1:35am Friday. I've been talking to my cousins on KaKaoTalk. Off to sleep.

Sharna

P.s: do you guys use KaKaoTalk? If so, add me :)

19th day in Korea

27th December, 2011 (7:32pm Korea time)

It's my second last day in Korea :(
I already miss everyone ad everything about this place that makes it special. Damn, Im definitely coming back again.

Today, we went to my mums friends parents house. We prayed for the grandma to get better. And then we it our glasses and sunglasses. Hahaha, my mum got a glass and a sunglass, I got a sunglass and my dad a sunglass. We got it discounted a lot!! And plus, Korea always or most of the time give samples. So we got that and two gloves, a hairpin and two hair ties and one pair of contact lenses. The guys who work there are so funny. The guy who had brown hair didn't look too bad. Looked about early twenties. But he's married.. I can tell. And I bet you he's rich. All well.

Now we're at my big aunties(mums side) house. We just ate jajangmien which is black bean noodles. It is delicious :)

The little girls are playing wii next to me shaking their controls like crazy. Some sonic Olympic thing.

The delicious fruits are calling my name :P

See you soon,

Sharna

18th day in Korea

26th December, 2011 (10:00pm Korea time)

Hello my mushrooms :)
How are you?
I'm good thanks for asking. Haha. Sorry I'm really bored.

Right now my step grandmas snoring really loudly in the next room. Im at my grandpas house and I'm using free wifi from a network with samsung. I have no idea where it is but it's full :)

Today I spent the day at home checking blogs and my emails. It was awesome! I got to relax. Oh, there was the bee movie on. So i watched that. But it was synced with korean. And then at like about 12pm we went out to Myeongdong! Finally!

But most of the products they sell were makeup stuff and fashion. Sadly, I don't use makeup and the clothes are full on fur and coats and jumpers. But if you go to Lotte Mart it's really big. Just as I found some nice shirts we had to go see my grandpa. So, in the end we didn't buy anything :(

We walked from Myeongdong all the way to Jonggechong. To me it wasn't that far away but since it was winter and there were ice stuck on the floor. We were freezing to death. When we got to my grandpas office my fingers were literally numb and couldn't feel for about 5mins. But now, my lower body is warm with the heated blanket I'm sitting on and my upper body from the waist up is freezing. I hope you had a great day :)

There's so many dramas on right now. Most of them were crying when I flipped through the channels.

Oh, I remembered. You remember Jinsic right? My cousin. Remember he promised me that he will meet me today one last time before I come back again probably in 3 years(everyone says that.. I don't know why). Well, guess what? He didn't. He didnt even call. We had to call him. I don't know. But he was busy doing something. Maybe studying for his exam. He could've at least said sorry and called earlier. :( you know I've realized he always came and ate something with us and then left to study. I know he's busy studying. Trying to get into musicals but come on. At least say goodbye. Sorry. there's no reason to rant out here. I was so happy today but dude. :(

Anyways it's 10:20pm now. Off to sleep.

17th day in Korea (MERRY CHRISTMAS)

25th December, 2011 (6:20pm Korea time)

Merry christmas everyone!!
It is freaking cold here in Seoul. I hope you had a great day today with your family. Opening presents... And remember Jesus' birthday. It's about love. Ok.

Today.. We spent a normal Christmas. No.. It was tiring. Yesterday we slept at 1 in the morning and woke up today at 6am. Had to go to church with grandma. It was boring as hell. But today is all about family and Jesus.

We then bought a birthday cake and the scarf we bought before to grandpas house. It was my step grandmas birthday today. I think she's 65... I'm not sure.

Anyway we went and the two sons(step grandmas) and a baby and a wife. They are really nice. Well, the younger son is and the baby is so cute. The wife is the older son. Shes from north korea.. I asked how she came here... But grandma came in... So I don't know.

We went to a buffet. Haha.. The step grandma accidentally dropped the plate and it smashed. But the service was great. They were like. Oh, don't worry. Are you okay?(because the grandma has a bad leg.. Always needs support.. Dragging me next to her).

And now we are at my grandmas house. My mums friend from yes.. 20 years ago is here with her younger son. He is so cute with his tiny brown curly hair. He's about 5 years old. But he keeps asking me to sing with him. This cartoon with buses and trains talking. It's called Poli. Man, it's annoying. Over and over again. Apparently, he doesn't open up to much people. Lucky me... But he is really cute.

I locked myself in here to take a rest from the noise. Oh, you know everything is opened here(shops) and most of them are on sale. So everyone is going shopping. But we don't have time.

Let me see. This is what I bought for myself.

- schedule planner($4 which is really expensive for me)
- a highlighter (35c)
- 2 glue stick ($3)
- face wash ($3)
- toner and lotion for the face ($10)

Yeah, that's about it. Most of the stuff I bought is for others like:

- dads shoes ($90)
- step grandmas scarf and traditional bag ($15)
- step grandmas birthday cake ($22)
- friends souvenirs
- old friend from 10 years ago a flower ($4 for a rose petal)
- money for cousins ($100) and ($50)

Not only that we took my cousins and the old friends out so we had to pay all.
Sorry for ranting out. Haha.. But I dont regret anything. It was so fun. Even though it was a lot of money it was really fun. I wish we could do it again. But everyones busy. And we only have 3 more days left in Korea. :( the days go by really quickly. Grandpa promised me he will live till I get married. He wants to check him first. He has to be nice, handsome and rich. That's going to be hard.. Haha.

Well, I am going to go through all the pictures I took since the first day. Noo!!! I want to stay here a little longer. But I miss the long warm showers, Sam, my friends, ribs, not really my dad ( since he calls like every second day.. Hes counting the dates when we come back. Hes like sharmbo(my nickname only to him) i miss you), my piano and again I miss Sam.

Anyways, I just wanted to wish everyone a merry Christmas and hope to see you soon :)

Yours truly,

Sharna

16th day in Korea

24th December, 2011 (9:33pm Korea time)

Hey everyone!
It's christmas eve!
And I'm depressed as hell.

Well, first off. Jjanggu and i watched Jjanggu on tv. Haha.. It was a cute moment. I won't get to see him for 3 years :( I hope he will still be the same when I come back. Funny, great, innocent and Jjanggu.

We then visited my grandpa and step grandma. Man, was he so happy to see me. I hope he doesn't drink anymore. And live a healthy life.

It was so cute. We were trying to find the exit of the train station. And this guy was sitting down with a big white bear next to him texting someone. And a girl comes around the corner. And then he gave her the bear. It was so cute. The bear was so big she couldnt carry it. So he carried it for her and they went on their date. It's just like a scene from a cute romantic drama. There's a lot of couples now since it's almost christmas. No... It's packed with couples.

We then went to see my aunties church. That's when I got more depressed. Just think about it. What would my life be like if I never moved to Australia? I was so happy when we started going to a korean church in strathfield. That time I think I was in year 3? I dunno. And the kids were older and younger. We had so much fun. Played soccer, water gun fights, sing songs, steal each other slushies(it was next to seven eleven), sleep overs, murder in the dark, truth or dare.. I could go on and on. Then we stopped going. I can't remember why..

If i never have moved. I would be super smart. My relatives and I would be closer. And they wont need to suffer. Especially my grandpa. He's trying really hard. And when he's drunk he spills out everything. But really he's a great person who's suffered a lot in the past because of us.

This is sounding more like a diary entry. Dont read it. I'm having PMS.. An emotional moment. It might sound stupid. So skip this entry and read the next one.

In sowoon where we slept with janngu it had snowed ankle deep. And then we went to Seoul there's barely any snow. Just mud.

Oh, we met our old friend from Australia. I love them. They are so amazing. They gave us a golden necklace with our names on it and MInT chocolate. I felt so bad going empty handed so I bought them a flower. A rose. They are talented, amazing and just incredible. I hope they too live an blessed life with no regrets.

God bless all.

Girl who's depressed.

P.s: oh, yesterday. No.. When jjangu, me, mum , jinsic, and his ex mum. Jinsic showed me a pic of him biting a bear cookie. The head was in his mouth. And he told me watch out pointing to my shoes( I had uggs on which I borrowed from my auntie). He told me I looked like a bear from waist down. I laughed my head off. It was a you had to be there moment. It was so cute.

Haha, you know what I realized. With jjangu I keep punching him and we seem like we've known each other for years... Kind of like a little brother even though he's 21.

And I keep poking jinsic... Like a big bro..Like I don't want to destroy him. You now? Apparently his dad married 4 times. So he's suffered a lot. And no the dad is not a bad guy. He too may have suffered. I haven't met him. I only know he's really tall. Jinsic promised me. Pinky promised to see me again before we leave. It's really cute. It's like a cute drama scene. I think I watch too much dramas now. .. Ive only watched 2 so far.
- princess hours or goong
- protect the boss(very funny)

P.p.s: we're still stuck in traffic. It's now 10:12pm

P.p.p.s: just got home to grandmas house. Ate delicious chicken. Off to bed soon. Its 11:58pm almost Christmas,

15th day in Korea

23rd December, 2011

Today, it was a success!
My mum got her tooth out easily. :)

Well, today was the best!!
In the morning my mum went to the dentist. And straight after that we went to this market and bought tiny souvenirs for you guys :P

I thought they were cute and handy. And then we went to this resturant and ate 'kimchijege'. It's kimchi soup with meat. It's was delicious and not spicy at all. Then we went to meet up with my cousins and his ex-mum(musical guy).

We ate 'galbi' and talked :)
I can't believe it's already christmas eve!!
Well, I'm actually writing this on the 24th so stay with me.

Anyways, then jinsic or Jeffrey(his eng name... Haha) promised me we would meet on the 26th so I can't wait! And he had to go to hugwon which is an after school thing to practice. He's really busy :(

And then the exmum dropped us off at the train station. We took the train. And this creepy drunk man kept following me. Apparently he was trying to grab my hand??!!

Anyways we lost him.. Haha and it started snowing!! Like heavily. It was beautiful. But really cold. But still it was amazing. And jjangu or jongchul or Scott took us home since his parents are on a trip to malasyia. We talked about everything. Man it's like we made up for the 10years of not being together. He's lucky though. He's going bowling today with his mates while im stuck with grandpa(we've seen him so much.. And called him like everyday).

Let's see:
-he is going to drink beer or Soju, go to noralbang(singing place), play pool with his mates on Christmas.

-He likes IU( a Korean pop singer)

-I was staring at his hands and started laughing. And he said my friends think I have girls hands(hahaha.. Kinda true)

- actually really strong but pretends to be weak

- people thought he was gay in highschool(i asked him if he was gay)

-I cant seem to find any secrets from him

- is a pro at basketball and drums

-Is 21

-is like about 170cm

-likes skinship( is comfortable hugging people and stuff)

-had 20dates with this girl and mates .was about to confess but she was drunk and had to go home( it was really funny.. When he told me that)

-is funny, polite, nice

Well that's all I remember for now. We talked till 1 in the morning. And went to sleep. I kept hitting him with a pillow. Dunno why? Maybe It was the late nights.

Well, off to eat breakfast. :)
I'm glad I'm home. I wish I could stay here forever. But that's a dream. Well only a few more days till I go back to Australia. I miss you guys. What are you up to? Sorry, I can't read your blogs. I'm on my iPod touch and internets slow here. I promise to read it once I go back. Oh, and upload photos:)

Cheers,
Sharna

13th and 14th day in Korea

21st December, 2011 (10:12pm Korea time)

Hallo ma brudahs n sistas!
I have just finished skiing!!
Man, it's difficult. We are at Oak Valley. We took a shuttle bus... For 4 hours..

The view in our condo is amazing. Beautiful landscape. Snow everywhere.
They have two rooms, two toilets, living room and a balcony. It's great!

I'm with my auntie and her two girls(mums side) and my mum.

22nd December, 2011 (10:23pm Korea time)

Hahaha... It was great. My mums sister and her two girls took us to Oak Valley. Right? Well the four of us went skiing. My mum, me, little girl(8), little girl (5). It was so cute. She went down the hill really slowly and couldn't come back up. You have to walk sideways like a crab to come up. It's really tiring. If takes like 50sec to go down and 3mins to come up. But it was a lot of fun. I didn't fall :)

The little girls thought me a card game. It's like UNO except with plain cards. K is jump twice. J is jump once. Q is reverse. 7 can change shapes. 2 you have to eat two cards. A have to eat three cards. We stayed up all night yesterday playing that game.

Just before, i ate dinner at 9 and I'm waiting for the bed to heat up. Well, I cant wait for tomorrow!!

I'm meeting up with my cousins from my dads side. Remember the two guys I told you about. The musical guy and 'jjanggu' you know the really old Japanese cartoon. Who always shakes his bum and has a cute dog. I dunno... I just gave him the nickname :P

But my mum has to have tooth surgery tomorrow. Pray for her.

Good night world.

12th day in Korea

20th December, 2011 (10:53pm Korea time)

Hello my lovely munchkins!
Today was a day for rest :)
Man, all those late nights, walking, meeting everyone. Today I'm well rested. Even though Im a little insomniac it was alright.

Well, I guess... You could say my day was ordinary. In the morning I finished my book 'the truth about forever'!! It's such a good book. Like I said before, I'm not into romance but this ones really good. Give it a shot.
Title; the truth about forever
Author: Sarah Dessen

I'm totally gonna read more books from her ;)

And in the afternoon I watched YouTube videos. Haha.. Im a sucker for funny comedy shows.

Then we went to the DENTIST!! Dun dun DAAAAA!! haha.. It wasnt bad at all. My teeth were great. Just this one tooth which was rotten. And I got it .. What!? Scraped. Dunno, but it's gone now. And went to the OPTOMETRIST!!! Haha... Nah. It's just a glass shop. My auntie chose a sunglass for me. It's like those glasses for fashion. Kind of like the ones in the cinema.. Except smaller and more stylish. I dunno.. I tried it on with only a glass lense so I don't know what it will look like with the shaded sunglass. I thought i would look like a nerd. But nah.. Haha!!

Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite :P

11th day in Korea

19th December, 2011 (7:36pm Korea time)

Hola!!
Tonight I actually have time to write a blog :)
Let me give you an over view of what happened today. Hm.. Give me a sec to remember. Ah, in the morning we went to collect my dads business cards.. They looked pretty original but its alright. They worked really hard on it to make it on time for us :) thank you to the two men 'ahjussi' which means men (30-50) in Korean.

And then we went to hongdae to go shopping. But all the clothes were winter fashion. And you know that I will die of heat wearing that. My auntie told us that they have the best 'dokbokgie' there. And she was right!

Most 'dokbokgie'(spicy rice cake) is really spicy but this was sweet and yummy with a hint of spice. Plus, it was really cheap!! $2.50 for a whole plate of them. Apparently, it's because its near highschools. And when school finishes and students are looking for a snack to eat its there affordable and very delicious.

Oh, and if you want to go to Korea! Make sure you buy some face or body products. They are much cheaper and is great quality. So, my mum got excited and bought BB Cream. Which is sunscreen and foundation together with whitening cream. Or something like that.. Yeh, there were so many tourists there buying a lot of stuff. And I mean A LOT!!

Then we went to this HUGE book shop. Its filled with stores, books an cafe's. Books are a bit cheaper. I'm so excited I'm going to buy a yiruma book :). It's cheaper to buy it online.

Now I'm at my grandmas house. In my cousins bedroom since hes in the army. On a nice bed with the heated blanket underneath. I want to eat ribs.. Hurricane has the best ribs. You know the one in darling harbor.

Oh, I'm going to see snow on Wednesday :)
But I'm scared coz I've never took ski lessons. My friend from long ago(Joseph) said that snowboarding is really hard for first timers. Haha.. He tried and he kept falling on his butt. :)

Just before I was watching the news and the prime minister or whatever he was died on saturday. He was in charge of north Korea. Died of a sudden heart attack in a train on the way to something. Apparently, they are to grieve over him till dec 29. It's on the news right now. And Korea is tightening their army security just incase they attack. Oh! I was on the train with my mum. And this grandpa was holding a sign. I couldn't be bothered to read it. But my mum was like.. Turn around. An I was like meh.. Grandpa holding a sign . But it ended up saying something like this 'Korea should have nucleur too because we look weak against the others'. And i was shocked!!! I don't wanna die!! Noo... But everyone else ignored it. Except for some other grandpa.. Fully supporting him.

I feel sorry for my cousin. He's in the army right now.. And since he's on active and the north Koreans might attack.. He's only 20-21. Let them be free.. Conscription is bad! But then again, its not that bad. It's like training. But if a war comes he has to go.

WE WANT PEACE!! NOT WAR!!

Hey you know the song from 'gullivers travel' and 'agent Cody banks 2(love the movie btw)'.

WHAT IS WAR GOOD FOR? ABSOUTELY NOTHING!!

10th day in korea

18th December, 2011 (5:57pm Korea time)

Man, this prayer mountain thing is complicated. Yesterday, we had to take the bus for 2 hours to get there and it was freezing. The mountain which doesn't seem like one.. Hmm. Let's just say I didn't enjoy it. We went to so many prayer thingys it's so boring.

Since we didn't pay for a room we were to share a bedroom which was as long as 2 tiny rooms with at least 20people. Did I mention they are all grandmas. And is really chatty... The floor was so hard my back hurt. Um.. Yeh, we gave up and came to my grandmas house today after shopping at emart. Its so good. There are tiny stands and give taste samples out. You pretend to be interested in it and take the sample and slowly back away... Well that's what i did. We just bought food. Nothing interesting.

Oh, when we were at this prayer mountain thing this morning. My mum and I were walking and talking about something boring. Well, she was talking and I was bored out of my mind. And I banged my head on a sign post. Yeh, lame. At first i didn't notice. I just heard a really big BANG sound. But it ended up being me. Yeh, got a bruise on my forehead. No worries, I got a fringe so no-one can see it.

I'm watching some funny comedy Korean show where these celebrities go to china(with Jackie chan behind the scenes to help) go on a mission with small but hard quests. It's really funny.

I got a massive headache... :(
Well, I will leave the rest up to you to decide what happens next.

9th day in Korea

It's the 17th I believe and 8:30am.
I dont think i will be posting for 2 or maybe 3 days. Apparently, my mum and I are going to prayer mountain. Basically it will be freezing and you pray there and sleep. I will be dozing off and reading my book. Korean churches are so boring. It's worse than school masses.

Btw, remember my list of books I was really excited to read. Yeh, the book '13 reasons why' was a total bore. But j read it all since i had nothing to do on the plane. Right now I'm reading 'the truth about forever' it's pretty good so far.

Well, wish me luck.

8th day in Korea

16th December, 2011 (8:03pm)

Okay, today we went to my auntie(mums side..) and the husband taught me some drum techniques. Then me and my mum went to a hair shop. I only wanted a cut but ended up with side fringe cut with waves.. And yes my hair was in this grandma curls and stuck to this octopus machine and took about 3 hours. Ugh..

My mum only died her hair and got a haircut.
Yeh. So tired. I'm home in my grandmas house. Off to sleep

Cheers,

Sharna

6th and 7th day in Korea

14th December, 2011
Hey
Sorry I forgot to write. I've been really busy meeting everyone.

On the 14th we went to sleep in my grandpas house.

Well on the 15th my mum and I visited this king palace. Man, it's huge. It was so cold. If you ever watched the k drama 'princess hours' it's very similar to the palace or goong. Then we went shopping in insadong. That's a more traditional place to buy souvenirs. It's my step grandma's b'day on 25th of December so we bought her a scarf. Then we went and met my friends long time ago. Yazi, jospeh and his gf(really nice and funny. Looks like a actress). We went and saw a musical called 'audition'. Omg! It's was the best!!
It was funny, sad, musical and amazing!! I wish I could see it again. It had everything jazz, rock, pop.

Cheers,

Sharna

5th day in Korea

13th December, 2011 (12:44pm Korea time)

Hey!
It's is past midnight. So, I guess it is the 14th but yesterday or a few hours ago.

Today, we went to COEX mall in Seoul. It's a big shopping centre with everything. We looked around a few hours. Ate this delicious egg wrap thing with rice.. What's it called? I forgot.

Then we went to the aquarium. It is amazingly wonderfully awesome! If that's even real words. Haha.. It's nothing like the ones in Australia. The fish were put into designed tanks. So, I saw one in a vending machine. Although, at first I thought you buy the fish but it's only the tank inside the machine. Although, you can buy the coke.

Some were in plastic fridges and lamps . It's unique. And looks great. You might think is gross as sickening with my description of keeping small fish in weird places. Don't worry, no fish were harmed. I'll upload photos soon. I promise. I took a lot :)

And then at 8:10pm we went to the cinema in Soowon. We watched mission impossible(the new one). Tom cruise doesn't even look like he aged. Man, lucky guy. The movie was amazing. I would rate it 5 out of 5.

But the cinema was not. We went to the IMAX one and it was boiling. I thought I was in a sauna. So, I think the workers thought everyone was cold since it is winter they put the heater on. And everyone in the cinema were dying of heat. And the speakers were really loud. My ears kinda hurt since there was a lot of explosions in the movie. But overall, it was great. Go check it out. I'm off to sleep.

Good night world,

Sharna

4th day in Korea

12th December, 2011 (11:52pm Korea time)

Hello!

Well, today ... Nothing interesting happened. Lots of train rides. It's like a war though. People speed walk to a seat. Hahah.. We met a old friend today. Their family is so nice :P

The daughter got into uni for beautician. And her brother wants to study music stuff. He's really good. Right now even though it's almost midnight he's practicing.

The daughter and I practiced the piano :)
Hehe.. I want myself an yiruma book and cd. We got lost and we went across 'myeongdong' they sell a lot of clothes and kpop stuff. I was so tempted but we had to meet my auntie(dads side) to go see my dads mums sister. She really wanted to see my dad. So he sent her a letter and she started crying. Then my dad called her. Yup, happy ending.

Then we went to meet my dads sister and her daughter. She owns a knitting shop. She gave me some tools and a bag she knitted herself. It's really good. Wow, I'm really thankful.

Oh, we watched 'abduction' it's really good. I have no idea when it was released but it has Taylor Laurent in it. You should watch it :)
It's about a boy who was set up for protection from the bad guys. His real father has some secret files with code names.
I can't really explain. It's really good.

Well, it's midnight now and I'm tired to death. I'm gonna go find myself a nice comfy bed.

Adios amigo.

3rd day in Korea

11th December, 2011 (9:19pm korea time)

Hola! Yesterday we slept at my cousins place. I got the time wrong. He needed to leave the house at 9am. I woke up at 5 for nothing. Heh.. It's funny. He woke up late, and he tried to scare me. But he failed :P
And my other cousin tried to speak English and told me this kpop star 'IU' is famous and great. Check her out. She's really pretty and can actually sing.

I thought my mum had bad eyesight -0.2 but he is -0.5. Which is going to be hard when he goes to the army in march. He wants to travel. Like going to europe or Australia. Haha.. I talk a lot about him. Man, I love my family :)
Btw, hes the musical guy

Today my younger cousins mum and her husband and my mum went to this beach place. It is amazing. It's not a beach but like an ocean and it's muddy. Although I was freezing to death it was definitely worth it. We went and ate shells which I have always hated but the small ones are actually okay. And they ate octopus called 'nakge' it moves even though it's dead. I thought that was creepy so I didn't eat it. And if you do come to Korea try and eat 'kalguksu' it's like noodles.

Then we went shopping at home plus. It's like a big big Bondi junction. The customer service is amazing!!

After a long ride at the train station. They have heated seats :) and double doors which prevents accidents or suicide. And TVs to tell us where it's gonna stop with music !!!

We just got to my grandmas house (mums side). I met my cousin who came from the army for 3 days (break.) And we just ate dinner and watched a Korean drama(it's so funny coz it's over exaggerated). Yah, my 3rd day in Korea :p

Cheers,

Sharna

2nd day in Korea

10th december, 2011 (12:11pm Korea time)

Hey Everyone!

Today I met my grandpa and his wife. They are so nice. Lol, my grandpa is really short. And my cousin who's really tall. He looks like a Korean drama actor. Have you watched a program called 'protect the boss' it's hilarious yet romantic. He looks like the guy who plays the good guy, wanting to get the company. And 1 hour ago he sang for us. He's really good. He wants to be in the music business in musicals. He is so nice. Well the 5 of us: me, grandpa, grandma in law, cousin and my mum went to this tower thing. It's kind of like Sydney tower. We went to the point and wow, there's a lot of buildings. It was beautiful. We took a photo there. When I get back to Australia I will upload it.

Then me, mum and my cousin went to 'soowoon' to meet my auntie, uncle and cousin. They are so nice. The auntie is really short. Shorter than my cyn cyn. Haahaha.. And my uncle is .. I guess he is like an inspirational speaker. They are really nice. Then my cousin he is funny yet works really hard. Oh, but my cousins on my dads side is in their early 20's. They don't look like it though. They are so funny, yet works very hard and kind too.

Then me, auntie, two cousins went to see yiruma. Wow., he is amazing. If you have the chance go see him. Some of the songs I enjoyed were:
- indigo
-it's your day
- maybe(new version)
- river flows in you
- remenance <--- don't know how to spell
And lots more. I dunno. I might not like it when I hear it on the computer but that time it was amazing!! Yiruma is .. About 32years old. He has a wife and a 3 year old child. He is very kind, gentle and a great pianist. He brought up this kid he knows who only has one arm. And they played a beautiful duet.

Then we went to eat 'galbe'. It's meat and it's delicious!!

Tomorrow, my cousin is going to 'hukwon' it's like a school and he is going to practice singing and acting. Then my other cousin is going to practice his presentation for uni. :( they are all busy.

It's really funny. Everyone had different questions about me.
My cousin(musical): thought I would be tall because he has an Australian footballer friend. Btw my cousin is like 180cm.. Dunno.. I'm just guessing.
My grandpa: I didn't know what my sharna would be like. Mean? Pretty? Shy?....
My auntie: sharna changed a lot. She used to be shy and ignore others when she was little. Now she's so confident and pretty
My other auntie: sharna keeps smiling

It's kind of annoying that they always say: ' wow! Sharna looks like her dad. She grew up so pretty'
I hate the P word.
But no worries, I love my family. Especially my cousins on my dads side. :)

It is now 12:40 so I'm going to wake up really early and scare my cousin in the morning. At .. He leaves at 7am. So I will scare him :) haha watch out.

Cheers,

Sharna

I LOVE MY FAMILY!!

You have reached your destination

10th December, 2011(9:17am Korean time)

Hey everyone!
Guess where I am??
You got it!!
I'm in South Korea.. :)

But first off, Sorry Joanna. I tried to comment but I can on my iPod touch. I'm glad your okay :) you should do I.T next year.

Okay, I arrived in Incheon yesterday at like 1pm( the afternoon). We had delicious street food. Called 'dokbokghi' it's this spicy rice cake. It's really yummy. And it was freezing, there was even snow. It was -6 degrees but it didn't look like snow, just like small fluffs falling down. Oh man, the traffic is unbelievable.. Not the traffic jam but people drive like crazy. Especially my uncle?? No.. My aunties husband. He is so nice :) and he's a music teacher. Perhaps I can convince him to teach me. Yeah, when he drives it awesome. It feels like a police car is chasing us and we're fugitives or something.

Then we met my grandma( mums mum). I got acupuncture :(
It didn't hurt. Just stings a little. I had two on my feet and two on my leg. Today I have to get medicine called 'hanyuk' it's this herb thing. And smells horrible ad ewe.. Bad memories.

I met all the family on my mums side yesterday except one person because he's in the army (it's like conscription.. If your a male in your 20's you serve in the army for 2 years or go to jail). They are so nice. We didn't bring much luggage and they gave us clothes, food and money. It was my mums b'day(in the Chinese calendar) three days ago. So we had traditional food you have to eat on Ur b'day like 'miyukgook' its seaweed soup. I know it sounds unpleasant but it is yummy and 'mandugok' which is dim sim soup.

Man, everyone looks the same except a little older. My cousin changed from cute to cool. He's still my little Eric :)

Today, I am going to my grandpas office to eat lunch then travel to 'soowon' no idea where that is to see yiruma live in action. Apparently, we got the cheap seat at the back but no worries. I'm bringing my camera.

The only thing I hate about my grandmas house is that they don't have a shower. Its just bucket, and tap. So, we went to my aunties house to shower. Oh, and korea you can't put paper and flush it down. You put it in a bin. Sounds gross right, and it's very annoying. Korea has the best heating system in the house. The floors are heated :) and there are electric blankets too. Well, adios for now. My mum is nagging me to try on the clothes we got yesterday.

Cheers,

Sharna

Btw; did u guys get Ur sc? My dad got it for me and I passed everything!! He sent me pics.
I got a band 5 for English :)

TODAY IS THE DAY

8th December, 2011 (8:18pm)

Hey Everyone!

I'm at the airport waiting for the plane. It's been two hours and the plane hasn't boarded yet.

Yay! I'm finally on board :)
Everyone here speaks mandarin or cantanese.. Even the flight attendants. So, it gets really confusing. And there are Chinese dramas on... With tiny English subtitles. Save me!! Haha..
The pilot said it is going to be a 8 hour and 45 min flight. Then we have to change to another plane and that would take 3 hours.

We just had dinner (11:50pm). It was delicious. But then again, I was dying of hunger. We met a nice women who translated some of the phrases the flight attendants said in mandarin to English. But whenever they pass they always speak in Chinese.. And I'm like what? Yeh, it's pitch black outside.

9th December, 2011

Could not sleep, massive jet lag. It's 7:05 am in Aussie time and 4:05am in china time. Right now the plane is getting bumpy. We're flying over hong kong into Guangzhou. Wish me luck :)

I'm in China! It is currently 5:59am china time and my flight comes at 8:55am. After a lot of immigration stuff, and an annoying pat down even though I had no metal on me. I think china is more strict than Australia. I noticed the sit down toilets.. I was like.. Uh?? But no worries, there were normal toilets too. And in the airport there are never ending escalator things.. I was so happy :)

I'm finally on the plane. This planes good. The flight attendants are nice. And they have 3 translations over the speaker. First is cantanese, Korean and then English. But the pilot.. Wow.. I think he tried to kill me. It wasn't a smooth take off. I couldn't breath for like 1min. Now it's really sunny. China is really foggy. I don't know whether it's the pollution or the weather. It is bloody freezing. I can see the blue skies :) and the clouds. They look like marshmallows.

Stay tuned for more :)

Cheers,
Sharna

(I miss Sam)

Two more days left!!

6th December, 2011(9:08am)

Hey Everyone!

There's only 2 more days left :)
Sorry, I don't think I can upload any pics or videos when I'm in Korea coz I don't have a laptop. So, please be patient till I come back.

Yeah, there's this app that allows you to customize your screensaver. It's called 'Magic LCR'. And of course it's free so don't panic :)

There's a pic below of my name. I hope Joanna, Georgia and Juliet are having fun in their adventures around America. Say hi to Obama for me.. Haha.. I wish.

Took a photo of my dog in her Santa outfit. She has a lot of fur so it looks like she has chest hair. Cute right?

Cheers,

Sharna and Sam

To go or not to go?

3rd December, 2011 (3:00pm)

Hey Everyone!

I'm stressing out here. I'm not sure if I should go or shouldn't.
Yiruma (amazing pianist) is having a concert in Korea.
The ticket is $44 each. So me and my mum would be $88.
That is really expensive for me since I'm a cheapo.
Should I? I've never been to a concert before.
Okay, tell me if I should go or not.

Yiruma - River flows in you (2001)

I only know 3 songs from him in which he recorded in 2001. I don't know.

Damsel in distress,

Sharna

I'M GOING TO SOUTH KOREA!!!

1st December, 2011 (9:30pm )

Hey Everyone!

GUESS WHAT?!
I'm going to Korea on the 8th to 29th of December.
I can't wait!!
I've already packed and everything.
I just hope the plane tickets aren't a scam. Then I will have a mental breakdown.
Well, moving on.

I kinda feel bad for leaving my dad and my dog behind whilst my mum and I have a good time in Korea. But no worries, I will make it up for them. I've already built the christmas tree for them :)

I know it looks really dodgy.. but I learnt that you need small streamers(is that what it's called?? the red and white thing on the tree) to decorate on a 3ft christmas tree. And well, the paper you see stuck on the tree says 'DONT TOUCH' and I've hid it from view by a jumper so it would surprise them. Well, the lights are really pretty but it wasn't turned on then.

EEEKkkk!! I get to go to KOREA!!!

JOANNA - I told you that you weren't the only one. Haha.. I've packed everything, wrote down the schedule and researched a lot.

Okay. A story. Two days ago, which was the 29th of November. It was my last day of year 10!!! YEAH!

Yesterday...
Long story short... we had to take my mum's friend's luggage to her house ... traffic jam... late night... tired... before that.. I went to 2 Dymocks (one in Carlingford and one in the City in george street) and Kinokuniya. It took a lot of walking and searching. But in the end, I found them!! I'm going to read them on the plane :) so i can't wait.

1) Title: Thirteen reasons why
Author: Jay Asher
(I dunno, I heard it was a good book. It's about a girl who suicided because of some people. And then they find her tapes she's been recording about them and they change their ways.)
Here's a link: http://www.thirteenreasonswhy.com/index.php

I got the last copy of the book :) haahahhaa!!!
2) Title: The truth about forever
Author: Sarah Dessen
(Apparently, the author Sarah Dessen is really popular in America)
Here's the link to her website and read the blurbs: http://sarahdessen.com/

<--- I don't like the cover.. kinda freaks me out.. but all well.. I got the BOOK!!

It's about.. I duno.. Here's a description:

Macy’s summer stretches before her, carefully planned and outlined. She will spend her days sitting at the library information desk. She will spend her evenings studying for the SATs. Spare time will be used to help her obsessive mother prepare for the big opening of the townhouse section of her luxury development. But Macy’s plans don’t anticipate a surprising and chaotic job with Wish Catering, a motley crew of new friends, or … Wes. Tattooed, artistic, anything-but-expected Wes. He doesn’t fit Macy’s life at all–so why does she feel so comfortable with him? So … happy? What is it about him that makes her let down her guard and finally talk about how much she misses her father, who died before her eyes the year before? Sarah Dessen delivers a page-turning novel that carries readers on a roller coaster of denial, grief, comfort, and love as we watch a broken but resilient girl pick up the pieces of her life and fit them back together.

Yeah,, I normally don't read romance novels. I prefer crime and adventure but I heard this was a good book. Dunno.. perhaps I'll review it later.

Um.. what else?
I don't know what to give to my relatives..
Some australian stuff?
Like what?? Kangaroo skin(but i don't want to get stopped in the security)
I've already given them an expensive watch, kangaroo hats( the cowboy looking ones)

The only idea that I can think of is Tim Tams. Can you help me out? Please, I'm dying to know.

JOANNA - Remember you love the word 'succulent'.. I had to take this pic to show it to you. It says
"Salivating? Over succulent steaks? That's your beeflex"

Every time I go past that... I want to eat a steak.

Cheers,

Sharna and Sam (who's sleeping next to me)

Meet my dog Sam :)

30th November, 2011 (8a.m.)

Hey Everyone!

I'm sure you guys all know, but for those who don't.
Meet SAM!!!

She's a gorgeous Fox Pomeranian Puppy :)
She's about 1 years old. Her names Samantha (Sam for short.. since everyone keeps calling her a guy). She's very active, loves to sleep, and to cuddle.

<---- Lol, doesn't that pic remind you of Theodore in Alvin and the Chipmunks when he poses into the camera?? I think it does :)

Okay, what has she been up to lately?
Run around the house and sleep in all day.. hahah
<--- This was her when she first arrived at our house when she was 6 months... Cute right??

When I first saw Sam. I was really scared coz she didn't look like a dog at all. Long story short skipping out the dramatic parts...... My mum's friend's friend just had pups (about 6 of them) and wanted to give them away to a good home. I was shocked since they told me she was tiny pomeranian (like the ones in the movies) and I haven't had a dog in years and had no idea. But... after research and questions asked to other dog owners. I found out she was a fox pomeranian.

Did I mention Sam is really emotional? When I first got her she was depressed since she was away from home. She wouldn't eat or drink much and would just lie there looking sad. It took her a while to gain back her strength. I started to walk her little by little into a dog park where I used to live before. First she wouldn't even take a step forward so I had to carry her. (I dont know why? but she's really afraid of other dogs.. even small ones.) And now she goes crazy in the park.. or any other big spaces. She does a thing that I call a 'Happy Run' every day when I come home from school. She runs really fast from room to room and I join in... hahahha.. and then we she gets tired. She comes to me for a hug, and she falls asleep next to me (she keeps sitting on me ??... )

Here's a video of her doing the Happy Run...
Sorry, the quality is horrid. I filmed this about 6 months ago.. or something like that with my crappy phone. But in real life she's way faster.

Oh,, and did I mention she loves sleeping on soft, cushiony stuff?
It's so cute but annoying sometimes when she sleeps on my clothes.

Cheers,

Sharna and Sam :)

JESSE MCCARTNEY

20th November, 2011 (10:40 am)

Before Now

Well, what can I say? He's amazing.
He's an american solo artist, a singer, songwriter and an actor.
Jesse was in a band called DreamStreet (1999- 2002... they were so cute)

Here's a video
Its called It Happens Every Time

And then they broke up :(
Jesse made an album recorded in 2004.

Here's a video
It's called Beautiful Soul

And another one recorded in 2010
Here's a video
It's called How Do You Sleep ft Ludacris (Lol.. at the thumbnail)

And another one recorded in 2011

Here's a video
It's called A Simple Thing Called Love
But hasn't made a official video yet.. just a song :)

So, there it is :)
Jesse McCartney the first person I heard on the radio and fell in love with (haha.. i wont faint like other girls would though)

Enjoy,

Sharna

Are you an ELF?

20th November, 2011 (10:10 am)

Hey Everyone!

I can't stop myself, I love this song and I hope you do too,
For those of you who don't know.

Super Junior is a korean pop band. It has 13 members, and they're really famous in Asia. ELF is a fan club... it stand for ever lasting friends?? Im not sure.
But I love Sungmin :)

Yeah... you see what I do when I get bored.. But you guys should really listen to them sing. They're amazing!
Here's a video.
Its called No Other

And another one I found a couple of days ago.. I'm addicted :)
Its called All My Heart

Yeah, you might be creeped out at first like I was because it's so different to pop culture in Australia. I thought they looked like girls and were gay (coz of the clothes they wear). But apparently, that's HOT in Korea (and other asian countries??).
TRY AND SPOT SUNGMIN!! HE'S THE HOT ONE.. HEHE
They're really funny and very talented. Hope you like it :)
Enjoy,

Sharna
P.S: I'll make one on other artists popular in America and Australia. SOON!! (like in 5 mins) hahah..

CHRISTMAS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!! and plane ticket to South Korea?!

20th November 2011, (9:30am)

Hey Everyone!

There's only:
35Days
7Hours
27Minutes
TILL CHRISTMAS!!! WOOOO!!

I can't wait!!
This year I finally managed to buy a christmas tree :)
It's nothing fancy, just a 3ft artificial tree that I got for $19 (on sale!!) at ChristmasWorld. And decorations from HotDollar. But I have a christmas tree!! My first christmas tree that I bought in Australia!

You know, I've always dreamed of celebrating christmas with my relatives in Korea around a warm fireplace drinking hot chocolate and singing christmas carols. Even though it sounds cliche and corny I want a white christmas. White wonderland they call it. And maybe for the first time in 10 years I get to!! It won't be on christmas but I might be able to go to Korea on the 29th of December (not sure yet) for 3 weeks. It would be scary since I can't speak Korean, count money, haven't seen my relatives for 10 years, and have no idea what it's going to be like, never went on a plane by myself let alone another country. But I'll manage.. hopefully.

But before the excitement, I have to spend the summer here in Australia. Well, it might not be that bad. I've managed 10 other years of summer here. But the fact that I've been saying those words for 10 years now, makes me a hypocrite. It's not Australia that gets my complaints. It's the weather. I HATE summer :(

Sharna

P.S: How come I can't upload photos here?

The Beginning

15th November 2011 (10:00pm)

Hey Guys :)
Sorry I went weird on my last blog entry. So, let me introduce myself.

Hey! My name is Sharna. I am 15 years of age. I live in Sydney, Australia (And no... there are no kangaroo's or emu's around unless you visit them at a zoo or go live in the country side). And I've created a blog with my name as 'BlueCosmos07'. Well, blue because that's my favorite color. Cosmos coz... they're cool?? and 07 my favorite number. Special thanks to Laura for the username :)

So, there you have it folks a little info about me. Nothing interesting I guess. I'm just another teenage girl leading a boring life.

My friends from school has inspired me to start a blog page about my life. So, Joanna this is for you chica. I hope you enjoy your stay in China and America and good luck at your new school. I'll definitely miss you and your complaints about teaching piano and how expensive the school fees are. Hehehe.. Bye for now but not forever :).. Lol... see you at school tomorrow... DOUBLE MUSIC!! YEAH!!

Sharna

Girl Next Door

14th November 2011 (2:00am)

It had been hours since I stepped foot on Australian soil, driving from town to town we've finally managed to arrive at our destination. Home. From Waterloo (One bedroom and one toilet) for a family of three and a dog to a (Three bedrooms, two living rooms, three toilets, two balcony, one garage and a large backyard) in Carlingford. However, as we can't afford the rent so another family of three are sharing with us. That's pretty good right? Considering the apartment we stayed before was tiny and cramped. I feel so open and free :)

Well, over the last few days I've turned into a NOCTURNAL BEAST hungrily scavenging for bits of left over food that hasn't been damaged on the way to the new house. Hahaha... I felt like a hobo... but you gotta do what you gotta do to survive in this world. Other than getting up at 6am every morning, travelling in the car for 2 hours to get to school and 2 hours drive again to go home. I'm very grateful. Oh, did I mention the weather? You know the phrase 'I'm sweating like a pig'... that's what I'm feeling right now.... if that makes sense??

Sharna

P.S: I wrote this very late at night... so.. that explains my weirdness..
