A day to celebrate the birth of Australia peacefully with everyone.. <--- i think..?
What's it really for?
- Getting drunk
- Spending the day at the beach tanning
- Out for a big BBQ (or barbie.. haha)
- Have FUN :D
I mean, it's alright. A public holiday is good right?

Hahaha, I totally forgot why I started writing this blog post. Okay I remember. Lately, there's been lots of advertisements on the television and emails about sales going up for australia day. Something about buying 'Volleys' special edition for $50? and receiving points in your shopping card. I mean, it's a heck of a deal. But on the other hand, I'm not 100% sure but the Aboriginals have set up the tent embassy near the old parliament house. And Julliard Gulliard or Tony Abbott.. who ever.. said something very racist.
Australia day is a celebration.. remember? Anyway.. some things happened.. it got out of hand.. and Julliard Gulliard had to be rescued.. yes rescued.. look at the pic above.. it looks like spider man and the damsel in distress.
Don't get me wrong. Australia's a good country. A few racist people here and there. But I'm blessed with just a few swear words.. Maybe coz I don't go out much.. :P hehe..
NOTE TO SELF: Go out with friends more
I think Australia Day we should celebrate it with Aboriginal cultures. For example:
- Put up the Indigenous Flag.
- Ceremonies
I don't know. It's just an idea.

People out there... don't stereotype! It's not cool. How would you like it if I started swearing in your face about rumors that isn't even true. Plus, I am not Chinese.. I am from Korea!! SOUTH KOREA!
Hahaha, I found some funny stereotypes about Koreans:
- Is REALLY smart! (Education is important.. but i'm not smart.. sad fact)
- Eats Kimchi 24/7 (Lol, hahaha... no)
- Eats dogs (a lot of people oppose to it.. like me. and it's not a normal dog. it's one of those dogs that are stray and breed for eating.. kinda like cows or pigs. but A LOT of the people have never eaten a dog.. many restaurants are closing down now coz not much people eat them)
- Your short (no.. most people are actually getting tall right now. im short though.. 5 ft 3)
- Terrible drivers (no.. they're actually really good. it's just A FEW people can't wait in traffic. and there are so many people its crowded.. plus getting a license in Korea is not as strict as it is in Australia. but it is pretty hard)
- Korean guys strive to look more feminine (LOL!! no.. just becoz some guys look a bit feminine doesn't mean they look like a girl 24/7.)
Okay, maybe this isn't working out very well. You have to live in Korea for at least 2 months to actually fully understand. Well, I'm tired. Have to try and wake up at 6 am tomorrow as a practice run for school. Off to sleep.

You're a very, VERY nice neighbour. If I played at 9:40pm my neighbour would so bash the door down. Haha about Julia Gillard. You could tell in her speech the day later that she was really pissed but was scared to say something against the Aboriginals (who I think went a bit far this time. They are getting negative attention, if they want people to listen to their rights, it's not the way to go about it. It just makes those people who did it look crazy, and add more to the already negative Aboriginal stereotype. If they were trying to represent their people they did it pretty badly).

I remember in yr 8 (remember this, Claudine?) a certain English teacher said that people say Asian drivers suck because they look different from white drivers so if they get involved in an accident they stand out a lot more. It would never occur to someone (a white person) to stereotype against white people. Would anyone actually say 'oh look, Another white driver! They suck so bad' whereas in reality there is probably just as much bad white drivers as asian drivers.

(by the way, i don't know what's wrong with dog meat. If you want to eat dog, go for it. So ickle piggies are allowed to die but dogs aren't? I mean unless you're vegetarian and believe no animal should die, then dog meat, pig meat it should all the same. Well, to me it is. I wouldn't eat cat though, the meat is sour apparently)
I dunno about the Aboriginals setting up the tent embassy near the old parliament house instead of the new one, wouldn't that be admitting defeat? And one thing the Aboriginals will never, ever allow to be defeated is the tent embassy.
